Energy Center Solar Street Light Conversion
The PNOC's Energy Compound Solar Streetlight Conversion Project involves the construction of a 10KW central solar power system to replace the existing conventional power supply of some 58 street light posts within the compound. This is expected to be the first and biggest architecturally and structurally designed central solar power system for streetlight project in the Philippines.
In its continuous drive to develop and promote renewable energy, the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) has embarked on a project which aims to further stir awareness, interest and appreciation on renewable energy in general and in solar technology, in particular.
The 10KW solar power supply would be provided by ten PV arrays consisting of 200 units of 50Wp panels.
Conservatively, it can continuously serve the requirements of some 139 efficient lightning units with an estimated load requirement of 12.6 kilowatt hours form 6:00pm up to 6:00am ( i.e. 12 hours running time).
